While winter camping in the mountains can be a hit or miss, we lucked out for a quick trip, Christmas tree and all!

Well, when I say lucked out, I really mean that we actually found a spot with an (almost) mountain view not blocked by tons of snow.

Sadly the clouds didn't break for sunset.

The good news, it was still beautiful, and still cold, but we had a warm fire.

A huge shout out to my little brother Jay for braving this trip with me!

While more clouds rolled in and the sun had set, the air got colder, but the whiskey kept me warm!

I'm definitely a single malt scotch man myself.

Are you in the Christmas spirit yet? What does it for you?

Mountains, bonfires, and Christmas lights are what work for me. I just needed snow!

The morning was even colder, especially because the rain rolled in quick.

But of course, I brought the Christmas coffee!

And we got lucky with a quick break in the clouds for sunrise.

While the weather didn't quite go as we planned, we would have rather had snow than rain, it was still a good Holiday camping trip!

Merry Christmas friends!
